Michelle Costello recycled art at Christmas Fayres across Cornwall
We’re all aware of how much our beaches have changed over the years, what was once clean golden sands and sea have become consumed with litter and plastics. Michelle Costello for a while has been cleaning beaches collecting washed up plastic to either be recycled or turned into a beautiful piece of art. “My aim is to collect as many smartie lids and marine debris from the tide lines as I possibly can to raise awareness of the growing concern of the impact of plastics and waste in our oceans – as each bit of plastic removed from the beach is one bit less to be consumed by our precious marine life. I hope my work will inspire you and our younger generations to take better care of our waste and our beaches!” You can find Michelle and her work this Christmas across Cornwall at these dates and locations:
23rd and 24th Nov Gwel an Mor
1st Dec Eco Park at Mount Pleasant Porthtowan 11-4pm
7th Dec Crantock Village hall 10-2pm
15th Dec Portreath Arms
The Barkery: Merry ‘woofmas’ dog treats
We all know that dogs are part of the family. Now they can celebrate Christmas, advent and birthdays with their own range of gifts and treats! The Barkery UK is a Cornish dog bakery which offers an amazing selection of goodies. Jackson Lynn, co-owner says “people love getting something a bit special for their dogs and if they can buy treats which are made with natural ingredients and are healthy then even better. We make delicious dog treats and gifts and try to have fun with it. We have a range of baked items including doggy cupcakes, dog doughnuts and some classic British biscuits for dogs – custard creams, jammie dodgers, bourbons and party rings. People especially love the jammie dodgers as it takes them back to their childhood and they cant believe they are actually for dogs as they look good enough to eat!”
They can deliver freshly baked goodies to you within 7 working days and they are fully regulated, licensed, inspected and insured.
Their motto? Treat them well – because dogs are miracles with tails!
