Future Focus Success Story: Forme Partitions
Forme Partitions is a bespoke and flexible steel framed system crafted in Cornwall using advanced production methods along with specialist welding and hand finishing. The unique partitions system was born from a request by Agent Provocateur in 2009 to replicate original industrial steel designs of the 1920s with specific bespoke features. Since then the product has gone through incremental design iterations to evolve into a highly practical modular based system that it is today.
The company has grown rapidly at its base in St Dominic, near Callington and now supplies partition systems to interior architects, main contractors and design and build contractors in London and throughout the UK. Their partitions have featured in designs for end-users including Redbull, Netflix, ASOS and many others.
The company was introduced to Future Focus through a friend of a friend, who was aware of the pressures they were under. Initially, they were supported by their Future Focus Business Development Manager, Jaime Tinker, who spent time with them understanding their business and how Future Focus could help. This started with mentoring support for the company’s directors, to work on business strategy. They quickly realised that a key area that needed attention was staff development and recruitment, as their staffing levels had not kept up with their sales growth. One of the most useful parts of the Future Focus package was therefore salary contributions to take on two new staff, making the decision to take this step much easier. Alongside this, mentoring and training for both new and existing staff has been very beneficial.
The company found Future Focus to be very helpful and approachable and in the words of their Sales Director, Ashley Collins:
Future Focus gave us encouragement and reassurance that we were not alone, they wanted us to succeed and were always there for us, nothing was too much trouble”
The business mentoring has proved to be so valuable, that the company has now allocated budget for this activity so they can continue to benefit from it after the end of the Future Focus project.
The company was already on a rapid growth trajectory before they received support from the project and Future Focus has played a vital role in helping them to manage and control this growth. Support from the programme has helped them to take a step back and review key parts of the business to ensure the growth is sustainable and profitable. Training and staff development has been a key part of this project and as a result of Future Focus is now a really important part of the business strategy going forwards.
