Digital Transformation: Our new Digital Transformation Space
A transformational space for Cornwall
Unlocking Potential’s Programme Director, Allyson Glover, opened the Launch of the Digital Transformation Space welcoming everyone not just to what was our first physical event since Autumn 2019, but also to what she described as a “transformational space for Cornwall”. The Digital Transformation space is, she said, a place for people to make connections: between Cornwall’s hi-tech digital businesses and the wider Cornish business community, and connections, too, between Cornish companies and the national and global commercial worlds beyond Cornwall.
Toby Parkins, Director and Co-Founder of Headforwards, whose brainchild the FibreHub building was, continued this theme of making connections and facilitating a space in which sparks can ignite and chance meetings lead to inspired co-working.
He talked about his long-held ambition to bring disparate businesses together under one roof, about how even Starbucks on the A30 used to fulfil the role of meeting venue and drop-in site. He also described an innovation centre he visited in Sweden, a place which had at its heart a relaxed open space with a brilliant café, somewhere which nurtured a convivial and social atmosphere, conducive to the cross-pollination of ideas. (Which prompted him to praise the high quality and impeccable pedigree of the FibreHub café’s coffee, food and staff.)
