InFocus Growth Planning Day: Padstow Art Gallery
Liz Francis attended the InFocus Growth Planning day and left with key actions for her business.
Owner and manager of Padstow Art Gallery, Liz Francis, attended the InFocus Growth Planning day last month. Designed to give businesses a close-up forensic look at their business, Liz took part in the day to get some perspective and “reassurance that they were doing the right thing”.
About Padstow Art Gallery
Padstow Gallery specialises in selling “independent hand-selected paintings, sourced directly from the artists”. Liz has been running her gallery for the last 18 months born from an eagerness “to share the product of numerous years of experience, connections and some luck in there too”.
The art she sources has an intimately Cornish influence, focusing on “the concept of ‘edges’ and ‘boundaries’ – where land meets sky – a celebration of the flora and fauna of our countryside, and ruggedness of our natural coastline.”
Operating her business in a sustainable way is also a priority for Liz, “as a company we reuse and recycle as much as possible to minimise our commercial waste, we also use LED lights in store to reduce our carbon footprint”.
Key actions from the InFocus Growth Planning Day
Reflecting on her time at the Growth Planning Day, Liz commented:
I wanted to make sure I am ahead of the game and to get help with the growth of the business. It’s also important that we are doing everything that we can to make sure we’re giving our customers and our artists the best possible experience.
After an in-depth and ‘deep-dive’ analysis of her business, resulting in an action plan specifically for her business, we asked Liz for her top three takeaways from the day, she said:
Planning – It’s everything. We need to have a clearer idea of who we are targeting and how we’re going to do it.
Branding – We know we need to raise the credibility and visibility of the gallery in the right way.
Delegation – I need to let someone else do some stuff for me! Pull together as a team, but also have enough downtime to enjoy life outside of work.
InFocus Business Development Manager support
The basis of the InFocus Growth Planning Day is ensuring that every client has one-to-one support from a specialised Business Development Manager who, practically, will help guide in the creation of a bespoke business action plan. Reflecting on her time with her Business Development Manager, Liz said:
The expertise in the room is fantastic – friendly, helpful, no question is too silly or too small. It’s a really friendly environment to bounce ideas around and to get support.
The next two Growth Planning Days take part on the 5th of December 2019 and the 30th of January 2020: As part of the InFocus programme, these CLOSE-UP one-day sessions help you take a detailed, forensic look at what your business does, where it’s up to, and where it’s going.
