eCommerce and Technology for Marketing Expo
CORNISH TECH BUSINESSES HIT LONDON ECOMMERCE EXPO
This September, twenty one businesses caught a train from Cornwall to London to experience the two-day eCommerce and Technology for Marketing Expo at the London Olympia.
Cornish businesses such as Frugi, Digi-Quick, LinedUp, Fluid Branding, Barefoot Media and Kernow Craft attended the show meeting over 150 suppliers including IBM, DotDigital, Amazon, The Royal Mail Group, UKFastNet and Magento. In addition to that, the show had thirteen theaters where delegates heard from expert speakers from companies such as Bacardi, HelloFresh, Zenith, the NHS and Virgin Trains covering topics such as Omnichannel Marketing, UX and customer personalisation.
Jonathan Davies, Owner of LinedUp a Cornish business specialising in eCommerce, attended the Expo and said:
One of the learnings I have taken away from this Expo event in London, has been regarding Generation Z. I have a 14 year old son, i’ve been learning how he and his generation are much more passionate about their purchasing decisions and that Gen Z are literal, digital natives. Gen Z have an eight second attention span because they have so much content delivered to them; it’s important to deliver the information quickly, removing as many barriers as possible and using personalisation rather than broad reach targeting.
Reflecting on the trip as a whole, Jonathan continued:
This Future Focus Lab Trip has been fascinating; we have been here with a diverse range of Cornish businesses. I have been able to speak to Shopfiy and put faces to the other platforms that we use at LinedUp. We have had the opportunity to chat with other businesses on the train and build some strong connections whilst sharing our business successes and problems.
