Deborah Bennetts – Innovation & Collaboration Programme Lead
Innovation & Collaboration Programme Lead
Cornish born and bred, Debs is a Law Graduate with 20 years’ experience gained in a diverse range of businesses, charities and public sector organisations, which she now puts to great use as a Programme Lead for Future Focus here at UP.
After finishing her degree in Bristol and completing a Graduate Management Programme with Natwest in London; Debs moved North of the Border becoming a Recruitment Manager for the launch of Standard Life Bank in Edinburgh. She returned to London as National Recruitment Manager for Glaxosmithkline recruiting staff across its Ribena, Lucozade, Aquafresh and Beechams brands.
After returning ‘home’ to Cornwall in 2006 Debs worked in business planning/strategy, project management and grant funding in both the charitable and public sectors; developing and delivering a number of European-funded projects within the Cornwall College Group.
She is passionate about working with businesses and has specialised in projects supporting SME’s with a range of activities including apprenticeships/training, change management/improvement and new product development. Debs has been working with Unlocking Potential since 2016 to realise her ambition of supporting Cornish businesses to explore new opportunities and embrace change. Outside work she is kept busy by a lively young Lego devotee and mischievous 80-year-old mother (to recover from this she enjoys keeping fit and spending time enjoying the countryside and coast).
