Breakthrough workshops were ‘a revelation’ for Swift HR
Breakthrough has been “revelatory, challenging and worth it!”
November 2020, with no knowledge of starting or running a business but with more than 20 years of professional know-how under her belt, Natalie Swift took the decision to step outside her comfort zone launching her own HR consultancy.
Newquay based Swift HR provide “advice and support, design and delivery of bespoke training for managers in people management skills” says Natalie,
Last year I opened my door onto a whole new world of being an entrepreneur!
Needing some support to point her business in the right direction towards growth, Natalie heard about the fully funded 4-part Breakthrough workshops and “jumped at the chance to book myself onto the programme.”
What were the key takeaways from the Breakthrough workshop?
Natalie talks of three key take-aways from the Breakthrough programme: creating a business model that matched the goals for her business, understanding business accounts and finance and having a new awareness of marketing and customer needs.
We used a business modelling canvas which now forms the foundation of Swift HR. It was revelatory! It has helped me identify the service packages we are building with strategic partners and the many different ways to provide value to customers. It has broadened my future outlook on the possibilities for the business.
What does 2021 look like for Swift HR?
Natalie continues to work on longer term relationships with retained clients throughout Cornwall, but now a strategic partnership with Software Cornwall to bring HR support to tech start-ups is in the pilot phase, “It’s exciting, watch this space for social media updates!” says Natalie.
I’m also collaborating with a local business services provider to develop a one-stop-shop of HR, Health and Safety, and Training services to local businesses: we’ll bring business mentoring and specialist HR and training services to local employers as approved providers on the Employer Led Skills Programme frameworks with Cornwall Marine Network and the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
Would you recommend the Breakthrough workshops?
The Breakthrough workshops encourage business owners to think about their business from a professional and personal perspective, something that Natalie says will “help you shape a business that delivers on both.”
I would recommend Breakthrough to other entrepreneurs in the early days of their venture or those looking to change and grow their business. The combination of peer to peer workshops and 1:1 mentoring supported an effective learning process, which I would highly recommend.
