Breakthrough Stories: Good Apple
After attending a Breakthrough two day-er we caught up with Good Apple owner, Rose Savidge, to hear about a new direction for her business for 2020.
Rose speaks candidly about what led her to start her own business – after a marriage breakdown she found herself left with ‘no money and two children that depended on her’. It was at this point that Rose decided to reflect on her life and make some positive changes. Rose said:
I literally would not be where I am today without the ‘Good Apples’ that helped me through that point in my life.
Reflecting on how she turned her life around, Rose decided it was crunch time: she launched a social community, aplty named ‘Good Apple’, to help ‘women share knowledge and support through food and the realities of life’.
“Through Good Apple we look at food, finance, movement and life.” says Rose. Food nutrition is at the ‘core’ of Good Apple. She continues, “Good food is a massive part of the business. When things went wrong I needed to look after myself, I had two young children and decided that I just could not get ill”.
Through Unlocking Potential, Rose has been involved in the Breakthrough programme to help her develop ideas for her social community as a viable business proposition.
“Unlocking Potential really feels like someone has got your back!” exclaims Rose. “My mentor is fantastic; we talk about ideas and I get some fresh input.”
A new year gives a fresh perspective and more plans afoot for Good Apple.
This year I am excited to be working with a life coach, movement mentor and nutritional therapist, we’re also looking for partners in finance. I am also just about to launch a collaboration with a charity called Waves creating t-shirts with ‘You Rock’ slogans emblazoned on the front: £5 from each sale will be going to the Waves charity. I’m hoping to do some public speaking to really focus on making wellbeing real for women and how to fit it into our lives.
