Breakthrough Blog: Matika
A changing world obliges us to change too, and quickly.
In light of Covid-19, we adapted, improvised and turned our Breakthrough 2 Day workshop into four online sessions. Early results show these have been successful. New and young businesses continue to enjoy and benefit from the retooled, online Breakthrough, no less than our face-to-face predecessor.
One business which recently completed the four sessions is Matika. Founded and run by Saskia Sichermann, an independent photographer and filmmaker with a degree in Marine and Natural History Photography.
Saskia’s love for nature, humans and the connection between the two inspired her to start a visual content company. Matika uses photography and film-making to tell stories about humans and our surroundings.
Asked about the Breakthrough sessions, Saskia described them as “insightful and as interactive as they could be” adding “the presenters kept it very light-hearted and down to earth.”
Saskia’s ‘Breakthrough moment’
Many of those who attend share their ‘Breakthrough moment’: a penny-dropping, fog-lifting moment of clarity.
Saskia describes hers as “ … understanding that being confident about every aspect of your business is just as important as the quality of your product or service. Breakthrough helped me understand that being confident about your numbers makes it easier for other businesses to work with you or buy your products.”
Now ambitious for her business to grow beyond Cornwall, Saskia describes Breakthrough as “a brilliant way to start with an idea. With the help of professionals the idea can grow into something bigger.”
