A Breakthrough Success Story: Ashored
For Becca Scouse, who runs the booking and accountancy firm Ashored, in Truro, running a business was something she had always wanted to do. She took part in the two-day Breakthrough workshop to help her define her customer audience and get her marketing right.
“One of the big benefits of the Breakthrough programme is that it helped me focus on what I need to ‘say to my customers; to ensure I’m communicating what ‘I think’ I’m saying more effectively. What I am setting out to achieve for Ashored is now a lot clearer; it’s helped me to focus on different areas in more detail than I perhaps would have done. For me, marketing, social media and branding isn’t my strong point. Breakthrough has really helped me with that”.
After Breakthrough, Becca received support from a specialist mentor on branding and website development, which as a result, has led to the business-name changing. Becca now has a greater awareness of how her brand fits within the rest of the business sector and how it is perceived by her customers.
“Breakthrough has been one of the biggest learning curves I’ve ever been on! I’ve learnt a lot about myself which I didn’t know or wasn’t fully aware of, but I’ve really enjoyed it.
I’m really pleased I’ve done it and I think if anyone is thinking of starting a business, I’d always say to them if they’re really serious about it, to contact Breakthrough – I am definitely pleased I’ve done it.’
