Beckie Pascoe – Business Development Manager
Beckie brings a wealth of skills to Unlocking Potential having spent eight years running her own business before joining the team in 2016. Beckie’s career background includes roles in office management and as a PA at Director Level.
When not at Unlocking Potential, Beckie enjoys spending time with her three daughters and walking her large dog around the Cornish Countryside. Also a lover of the water she regularly sails and recently has taken up paddle boarding. Baking cakes for family and friends is also a favourite pass time.
Beckie, tell us more about your role:
I have a dual role within the UP team, I work as a Business Development Manager supporting businesses from initial conceptual start-ups through to more established SME’s. This is done through our Breakthrough workshops, group sessions and one-to-one development meetings. My other responsibility is assisting with the smooth operation of the programme’s delivery and data collation.
What experience do you have working with businesses?
I have started and run my own businesses, initially being self-employed following a career in office management & operations. This progressed to becoming a director of a limited company offering business services to SME’s predominantly in Cornwall. We offered essential business support in book keeping, financial management, business administration services and bespoke project support.
What do you most enjoy about working with businesses?
I love the fact that no two days are the same when working with businesses! There are always similar worries and challenges but being able to offer a empathetic and supportive sounding board to them can often be all they need to move forward in a productive and positive way.
How do you stay inspired?
Despite the economical & geographical challenges that living and working in Cornwall can sometimes present, seeing so many new and existing businesses looking to grow with the desire to be successful and with such positivity keeps me inspired in my job. I also work with the best team; we have fun getting the job done and the whole team genuinely loves what they do.
Outside of the day job…
I feel very lucky to have three daughters to keep me energised and inspired; their hopes and plans for their futures are full of optimism.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Hugh Jackman! Although have no guilt whatsoever about that!!! I also like a good dance; especially with my daughters to ‘Just Dance’ cheesiness in the relative security of my own kitchen, however, sometimes I am the unwitting star of their Snap Chat stories!
